Request for Common Victualer License for Hanson Youth Soccer to sell snacks and hotdogs for a six week period.  Motion Andrews, 2nd Ellis.  Voted 5-0 to approve.

Voted 167,403 for local schools in deferral, 92,573 for Whitman Hanson, 32,716 for South Shore VoTech for teacher deferral.  Board of Selectmen must vote to accept or deny teacher deferrals.  Mr. Andrews moved to accept, 2nd Ellis.  Voted 5-0.

Mr. Haggerty read letter from Chief Twomey announcing his intent to retire before June 30, 1992.  

Mr. Haggerty read public hearing notice regarding classification hearing to be held on October 15, 1991 at which time the Board of Assessors and Board of Selectmen will set the classification of property in the Town of Hanson.  

Mr. Crowley moved at 8:00 p.m. to close the warrant for the October Special Town Meeting to be held on October 28.  2nd Ellis.  Voted 5-0.

Discussed the hazardous "spill" at Thomas Hall discovered when the tanks were being removed.  Mr. Andrews moved the Board hire Camp Dresser McKee to do the necessary engineering work at the Thomas Hall site.  2nd Ellis.  Mrs. Murdoch wishes to be certain that DEP is satisfied with the firm.  The motion was amended to include the approval of DEP with Camp Dresser McKee by Mr. Andrews and 2nd by Mr. Ellis.  Mr. Haggerty concerned that the Board has not taken the time to explore the possibility of contracting with a firm that has oil spills as their main expertise.  Mr. Crowley concurs.  Voted 3-2 (Haggerty, Crowley)
